The site opens your email application; it does not send messages or accept enquiries through an online form. If you email us, we receive your address, the identity and professional details you choose to provide, and the content of your message. These details are voluntary, but a reply address and enough context are needed to answer. Please do not send confidential documents at this stage.
Purpose and legal basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiry and, where requested, prepare a proposed engagement. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering other correspondence. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising, profiling or automated decisions.
Hosting and service providers
Thomas Piacentini handles enquiries using Proton Mail. Cloudflare hosts and protects this website and processes technical request data, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and prevent abuse. These providers process data only within their respective service roles. Cloudflare operates internationally, including outside the European Economic Area; its data protection terms describe the applicable transfer safeguards. Proton Mail stores data in Switzerland, Germany or Norway. Their privacy policies are linked below.
Retention
Correspondence is kept while your enquiry and its follow-up remain active. Once the enquiry is closed, information no longer needed is deleted. If an engagement follows, only information needed for the relationship, applicable legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims is retained for the corresponding period, with access restricted. Provider technical data follows the retention rules described in their policies.
Browser storage and demonstration
No advertising cookies or audience analytics are installed by this site. Your chosen language is stored only in your browser and can be removed by clearing site data. The demonstrations run in your browser with fictional documents and predefined responses. They do not send your data to an AI service.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests and, where applicable, request portability. Write to contact@fieldandbearing.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
